Taking Things Apart

I enjoy taking things apart and understanding how they work. In addition to gaining knowledge, this allows me to make repairs or modifications. Here are some examples of projects I've done.

Game Boy Calculator

I put the internals of a Game Boy Color inside a graphing calculator. By soldering contact points from the Game Boy to contact points on the calculator, I was able to use the calculator's buttons as controls.

Replacing Dash Lights

My truck is 21 years old, so the dash lights have began to burn out, making it difficult to see my instrument cluster at night. Instead of taking it to a shop, I figured out to take it apart and replace them myself. I enjoyed the challenge, as well as seeing what was all in there.
